PhotoPlus Expo – NYC, 2011
I’ll be doing a short presentation on bounce flash photography at the PhotoPlus Expo trade-show, on three days this coming week. I’ll be at the Unique Photo booth (#464) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 12:30 – 1:15 on each of those days. The presentation will be on how to use the black foamie thing with bounce flash, to get studio quality lighting.
Those who are familiar with the Tangents blog will recognize the topic (and photos), but come stop by anyway and say hi. I look forward to meeting everyone.
Details of all the presentations taking place at Unique Photo’s booth.

Neil: when appropriate, you use softboxes. In a recent post, you described using an 8″ softbox on a light stand. A fellow pro photographer by the name of David Honl has developed a circular 8″ softbox which attaches directly to a speedlight. Are you familiar with this item and do you see a potential benefit to it? My best guess is that it would be most useful outdoors. Your thoughts?? Thanks, Richard

As it’s that time of year again (Halloween) this sounds like an opportunity for a bit of early mischief with the Gary Fong rep:)

Hi Neil,
This has nothing to do with this particular blog, but I can’t find something that I should have earmarked. It was a photo from another photographer that had a wedding couple in the rain with a white umbrella in the background lit via OCF.
I would love to read about the technique again.
Can you help me find that page (I know, not like you don’t have anything else to do…)Thanks!

So I went to PhotoPlus and when I saw you speaking I figured that I would grab a quick photo to post, someone beat me to it (that’s me in the orange shirt!).
:)
