Large and Portable Lighting Control
Whether you're looking for a broad on-the-go modifier or versatile but cost-effective studio solution, Westcott 7' Umbrellas are an essential tool for speedlites, strobes, continuous lights, and natural light photographers.
Reflect Light with White or Silver Bounce Interior
Looking to maximize the output of your studio light or flash? Bounce your light source into a reflective silver umbrella for bright, edgy highlights or into a reflective white umbrella for a softer, more natural look.
Soften and Diffuse Light
Looking to soften and expand the output of your studio light or flash? Shoot your light source through a 7' diffusion umbrella for large, glamorous lighting.
Take Control of Harsh Sunlight
Shooting on-location under bright sunlight? Westcott 7' Umbrellas can modify any light source, including the sun. Mount a diffusion 7' umbrella overhead to soften midday sunshine. Or mount a reflective 7' umbrella overhead to block sunlight completely.
Durable Framework
Constructed with flexible fiberglass ribs and a doubled steel shaft, these umbrellas will withstand the test of time when used in the studio and out on location.
Superior Design for Use Outdoors
With instant setup, easy teardown, framework designed to withstand impact, and a compact travel case, our 7' umbrellas are a must-have light modifier for on-location photography.
Portable Octabank-Style Lighting
Pair a silver 7' umbrella with the diffusion cover to create a large, yet controlled, light source. This essential accessory attaches instantly to your umbrella and offers similar modification to that of a large octabank without the tedious setup or cost.

After several months of ownership and several on location and studio photo shoots with the umbrella, I decided that it was time to post my review of this tool. Here are examples of my typical set ups using this umbrella. 1. In the studio, I use it with a 600w studio light triggered with Pocket Wizards and a couple of reflectors if needed. 2. On location, I have a flash bar that I mount from one to three Canon 580EX speed lights on triggers and reflectors if needed. One thing that everyone must know is that you need to own a large/heavy duty stand for this umbrella and a couple of sandbags.
The umbrella does exactly what is designed to do, provide a very broad even light source that is amazingly soft light over a large area. On location shooting portraits or families it's usually the only lighting I will need. I sometimes shoot with the umbrella directly behind me and because the light source is so broad it does not cast a shadow on the subject. This is also true if the subject you're shooting is close to the background/backdrop, the light appears to come from all directions and envelopes the subject reducing or eliminating the need for a secondary flash.
The materials and construction of the umbrella are pretty solid but if you take it outdoors you better make sure you secure it with sandbags or an assistant. The umbrella comes with its own carrying case and is packaged in a durable reusable tube, when not in use I keep mine stored in the tube. I have had great results with the umbrella and it is a very functional tool in my business. I will post additional reviews and links to pictures taken when using the umbrella if I can.
Here's the thing though, I've used this with a SINGLE speedlite and it has produced stunning results. And, because it's so big, you can use this in bright sun as both a light source and as a flag for bright sunlight!

I was looking for a softbox that would fit my Einstein strobe with a large coverage which i was struggling to find on amazon and this one it fit perfectly, the strobe and softbox is a game changer!
Came in perfect condition.
I had previously bought two of the 7ft softbox diffuser and it fit perfectly with the softbox.
I highly recommend for studio work or even outdoors

Dommage trop petit par rapport à mes espoirs.
and sweat on the day of a high pressure shoot, and I wish I'd found it before the Octagon, which cost more than twice the price. Anyway, the 2.2m
umbrella is great value and does a brilliant job of lighting a large set and producing soft shadows. Probably not as durable as the Profoto archetype, but solid and useful, nonetheless. If you use Elinchroms, you will find the shaft won't fit the proprietry channel the heads provide for true centre lighting of the umbrella, and you will have to use additional angled umbrella fittings between the stands and the heads, to secure the 'brolly and position it in space. Didn't find this to be a problem. Quick delivery from this supplier.
Bisogna misurare la cupola e non il diametro interno.
