Nikon 180mm f/2.8 AF ED

Hi Everyone!

Very close to put an order for the Nikon 180 mm f/2.8 AF ED ( current model ) and would love to hear your thoughts.
If you have or had this lens I'd appreciate  your input.

I'll be using for portrait, nature mainly but it would be a plus If I could for some slower sports like soccer,But
That is not crucial as i have the Nikon 70-200 mm f/4 that I do use for soccer in day light.

I'd be buying  it new.

I've read some very good reviews and some negative ones reporting bad purple fringing …

I'll wait to hear some comments  before I go ahead with buying it.

Thank you so much,

It's an older design, so I wouldn't be surprised if it has more Chromatic Aberration than more modern lenses.

Without stabilization, you're not gaining a faster shutter speed with the f/2.8

Honestly, I don't see a compelling reason to get this lens if you already have the zoom.
