Quadra Ranger with Beauty Dish 70cm

Hi Neilvn and Everyone!

I've bought the following to take portraits photos of my wife outdoors:

1 Quadra Ranger /A Heads plus a Elinchrom beauty dish ( 70 cm/ 28" )

I've also bought the cloth diffuser for this dish as I've heard that it softens the image a bit.

I was going to buy the smaller size dish also from Elinchrom the 44cm / 17" but was advised that the smaller one would not be suitable for a full body shot...

I've heard some people use Beauty Dish as a single light for portraits...

My camera is a Nikon D700 and lenses varies between: Nikon 24-70 2.8, Nikon 70-200 VRll 2.8, Nikon 50mm,1.8

Should I also buy a Grid for the dish? Would the grid be good for outdoors?

I'd appreciate any comments on how I can use this or If you have used yourself?

Thank you for your help,
