I need some clarification on this:
I use manual flash units (Stobie130) and manual triggers (Photix StrattoII). I have been told I can use high speed sync with a manual flash.
Here is the situation as explained to me:
On camera TTL flash in HSS and a manual flash off camera (I'm talking completely manual flash, just to be clear) set to fire optically. I'm told the off camera manual flash will work with a High speed sync flash setup like this.
I'm wondering how a manual flash will sync with the high speed sync shutter.
Can anyone explain this? Maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks.

The Stobie 130 flash cannot be
used for high-speed sync as it uses an instantaneous burst of light when it fires. For high-speed sync the flash has to be able
to fire a rapid series of light pulses, from what I have read the Stobie 130 does
not do this. Also the Photix StrattoII
is a manual trigger so your max sync speed is the cameras max sync speed.
