Hello, new here but a question I have been wondering about. I have shot several large families and group shots both indoors as in formal weddings shots and outdoors. Any tips or tricks for lighting large groups? I have just small flashes, 1-SB900, 1-SB800, 1-SB600 and an old SB80dx. I do have the new Pocket Wizards MiniTT w/AC3 and the FlexTTL. Any suggestions on modifiers or placement?
Thanks
Doug

So it would be a speedlight + umbrella + umbrella clamp + lightstand + FlexTT5
on either side of me.
Even light from side to side.

Sorry to pull you off subject here, but I'm wondering if you've tried firing your SB80dx with that PW system?
One last thing, with the mini connector, can you still adjust the SB80dx's (manual) power levels from the AC3?
Thanks for your help with this, much appreciated.
You don't need a setup that you can control from your camera for the formals.
And you especially don't need wireless TTL flash.
Formals is very much a manual flash scenario when working indoors or anywhere where the flash dominates
Doh!... so close :~). I'll have to think of some way around the problem.
Thanks for the info, it's helped a lot.
