Profoto B1 AirTTL. What's taking so long??
Has anyone heard any news on Profoto’s B1 progress for Nikon shooters? What the heck is taking them so long to come out with the Nikon Air Remote TTL-N? I realize that Nikon has a sophisticated metering system, but come on already. The Profoto website still has the same information about the Nikon release in their “B1 FAQ” section that they’ve had up there for months. In fact, it says the Nikon version will be released next year! I think that was posted last year… meaning this year… maybe. Who knows? Give us an update for crying out loud.
I’ve been wanting a B1 since they introduced the product last year. They better hurry up with the Nikon TTL-N because the money I’ve got saved up is burning a hole in my pocket. Hmmm … B1 or Nikon D810???

I've been thinking I should get the B1 already, and just use the Air remotes I have and use it as a manual flash in the meantime.
I mean, if I already owned Profoto gear like a D1 and already had the Air Remote, then yes, I'd go ahead and invest in the B1. In my case, I don't own any Profoto gear yet so making an Air Remote purchase only later to buy the Air Remote TTL once its announced would be a bit expensive and pointless for me.
September 15 !!
And there's news about a software update for high-speed sync.

I sure don't want to buy this now only to find out I need a TTL-N-HSS controller purchase later.
Either way, I used to adjust my flash power on my D3 / D3S by adjusting my overall Exposure Compensation ... because I was shooting in manual mode, doing so only affected my TTL flash exposure.
