Works great with my Octa, only complaint I have is that I had to order this cause my original Octa from Optics Planet did not come with this part. I tried to work with them in getting the part, huge hassle. So I just opted to purchase it myself and be done with it. Very strong and sturdy.
I have used this with several types of speedlight and a number of different fittings. In fact I have used it to adapt my own light fittings - it makes a great mounting for your own build if you are making light setups for your studio work.
Lastolite make great quality products, but their latest offering, which enables larger hot shoe fitting is somewhat of a mixed offering. I love the functionality and flexibility that the hot shoe offers. It's easy to use and adjust, when assembling an ezybox set up. Unfortunately, Lastolite have down graded from metal, as was the case with the old hot shoe, to plastic. Any tightening or adjustments don't instil confidence. It lacks any rigidity, so the use of smaller ezyboxes is recommended. It's also expensive to buy. However, if you need one, it's the only option. Shop around and look out for second hand deals.
