Was hesitant to buy this flash with all the reviews of overheating but I did anyway- Amazon return policy has never let me down. I absolutely put this flash through the ringer today and yesterday, firing 1000s of flashes at 80%+ power over the course of several outdoor events. Temperatures were in the 90s, direct sunlight most of the day. Zero overheats. Not one. Very happy with the flash performance and feature set, looks nice too. Video LEDs will be very helpful as well- I do photo and video. Will keep this post updated if any issues crop up but so far overheating hasn't been an issue and I can't imagine many shooting environments as hot as what I've shot in the past few days. For most people, this flash should be great. Mine came with firmware 1.10 installed. Haven't tested wireless features, I've just used the flash on-camera mixed between direct flash and diffused direct flash.
Update: June 13, 2016 - My original review still reflects my feelings toward and experience with this flash. Shot an outdoor wedding yesterday in Alabama with the temperature at 97 and 93% humidity, zero issues after 3700 shots, the wedding was entirely outdoors. Excellent flash with astounding reach.
