One start deduction for quality of materials, but if these were all metal construction, I imagine they'd cost at least twice as much. They do what I need them to do and they are holding up quite well, so I'm a happy camper.

These are plastic even though they made the pic look metal. It's the only reason I logged in to look at this again. I thought I was getting metal.
They ok but in order to get the umbrella post in I have to loosen and lift the flash, put the umbrella in then put the flash back in. The flash rotation will not tighten up with an umbrella in place. It's like they machined the plastic length a 1/4 inch short or the metal (looks like a thread spindle) and it makes the metal the flash sits on hit the umbrella post. Without an umbrella it works fine.

It's bigger than the picture. The item is mostly plastic but seems to be very sturdy and has no problem supporting an umbrella, speedlite and pocket wizard. It's good flash mount and a fraction of the cost of the high end stuff.

Product as in the picture. As in another review stated, an umbrella insert will make it impossible screw on the flash holder shoe mount on top (eventually you won't move it anyway or have no umbrella).

Pro: The center axis is about 180° moving range without clicking or preset positions. The Flash holder is removable and holds very tight up against even strong rotations.

Contra: The center screw (counter screw) sits in a plastic 6taeder very tight, but the plastic is soft. In my case the product became useless as the plastic couldnt hold the counter screw and it got "sucked in" to one layer more inside the ankle while I tightened the mount position. Now I can not get it out or fix the position anymore because it turns with the very same axis. So, this product flaw is too soft plastic or rather for lightweight uses. (I used for Camera + Light)

I had ordered one of these a couple weeks ago and it arrived, good and fine. Then I ordered a second one in order to get an additional light source for a wedding I'm shooting this weekend. It arrived on time, however upon arrival I opened it to find that the hole for the umbrella to slide into was too small to fit any of my umbrellas (mind you they had all fit fine in my previous one I had ordered from them). Not only that but comparing the two, they're different, little details from the knobs are different, not only that though but the whole design of it was different. It still could fit my flash fine and all, but that was pretty discouraging seeing that I don't know what I'm going to get when I order this, it could be different every time and only work half the time. I don't mind a cheap made product here and there, but I do want to know that I'm ordering the same thing every time! :(

As long as you temper your expectations, this is a fantastic little umbrella holder. I use it to hold a 43" umbrella, Nikon SB-600, and Yongnuo flash trigger, and I know it can easily handle more. Very thick, strong, and well built. I particularly like the large handle for adjusting the angle. The knob for tightening the umbrella does seem a bit weak, so that may be the bit that fails first, but it hasn't yet. It has even been on an umbrella that blew over in the wind, and it managed to hold onto the flash and umbrella without a problem.

One note, I did have to reverse the cold shoe (which is easy enough). When it arrived, the cold shoe was mounted on the opposite end from the umbrella mount, which meant I had no control over the angle of the umbrella - I prefer to angle the umbrella and flash together by loosening the large handle, tilting to the desired angle, and tightening the handle. As shipped (and shown in the pictures), doing that would only rotate the flash, and your umbrella would always have the same orientation to your subject. Now, if I want different angles for just the flash, I simply rotate the flash head up and down. A weird thing, but easy to fix by reversing the metal plugs that are included.

    Prodotto senza macchia,ne gloria.
Si presenta forse un po' eccessivamente "plasticoso" anche se lo zoccolo di supporto flash sembra piu' robusto
    Fa' il suo lavoro comunque

This product is exactly as pictured, much better quality than I expected.
The only downfall is that (I didn't realize before ordering) the umbrella hole is below the pivot function, so the umbrella angle can not be adjusted, only the flash.

    Otherwise, it's great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Neiger kann nicht funktionieren
Reviewed in Germany on November 16, 2015
    Keine Empfehlung!!!

For a plastic light holder, this thing has held up pretty well! The swivel bar has to by tightened occasionally (it loosens up easily), but it gets the job done.
