Hi there<\/h2>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\tIf you’ve just stumbled onto this website, I should explain where you are now – the Tangents<\/a> blog – a series of somewhat unconnected articles on photography, loaded with tutorials and other articles.<\/p>\n

Currently, this\u00a0is a labyrinth of over 900 articles! There is a lot to explore.<\/p>\n

I work as a photographer in New Jersey \/ New York<\/a>, but do take on work further afield. I specialize in weddings and portraits, but also do videography, and corporate and commercial work.\u00a0If you’re looking for a photographer, please do\u00a0contact<\/a> me.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>

I’m the author of a number of\u00a0books<\/a><\/strong> on photography,\u00a0and also regularly present\u00a0workshops<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A little bit more about myself:\u00a0I\u2019m originally from South Africa where I worked as a TV Broadcast Engineer. Then in 2000, my wife and I decided to settle in the USA with our daughter \u2013 and I have pursued photography here as a full time career since.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Navigating the Tangents site:<\/h2>\n

The Tangents blog<\/strong> originally started out as my personal site – planetneil – but eventually morphed into this website which contains numerous articles and tutorials on photography. Hence the name Tangents<\/strong>, allowing myself the freedom to write about anything I want to.<\/p>\n

The menu<\/strong> at the top is the obvious\u00a0way to navigate this site of course,
\nbut there are also two other important methods of finding your way around:
\nthe\u00a0search<\/strong>\u00a0bar, and a listing of the articles by\u00a0Category<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
