The tutoring sessions are personalized sessions that are intended to help photographers where they might be struggling with specific aspects of flash photography.\u00a0The photography tutoring sessions are based on the material that I present in the full-day workshops. These sessions take place in <a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/studio-directions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my studio<\/a> in Fairfield, NJ 07004.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Topics<\/h2>\n<p>The goal of the tutoring session is that we cover specific questions you have, and go over any challenges you are experiencing in photography.\u00a0You\u00a0are also encouraged to bring in images (either on a disc or on a laptop) that might provide insight into your\u00a0needs. Having this information will allow me to personalize the tutoring session to make the most of the time available.<\/p>\n<p>Possible topics to cover include aspects of flash and digital photography, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>camera and flash essentials<\/li>\n<li>exposure metering<\/li>\n<li>basic lighting<\/li>\n<li>lighting formals (for wedding photographers)<\/li>\n<li>outdoor lighting including fill flash and high speed sync<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A certain level of fundamental technical knowledge is required for the sessions to be successful.<br \/>\nFor example, a photographer should already know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the basic operation and controls of his or her camera,<\/li>\n<li>how to read the camera&#8217;s built in metering display,<\/li>\n<li>the basic relationship of aperture \/ shutter speed \/ ISO, and<\/li>\n<li>how to manually adjust those settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fees &amp; structure of tutoring sessions<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Individual tutoring sessions are $100 per hour, with a minimum of 3 hours. These sessions typically last 3 &#8211; 4 hours.<\/li>\n<li>If the tutoring session is held away from my studio, there is an additional $100 travel fee.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;d like to pair up with a friend, then the fee is $130 per hour. \u00a0(i.e. $65 p\/h per person)<\/li>\n<li>A non-refundable retainer of $100 is required to secure the date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Please note:<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> There is no model provided during the tutoring session. If you\u00a0<span style=\"caret-color: #000000;\">would<\/span>\u00a0like to\u00a0work with a\u00a0model, consider doing a half-day (or full day) <a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/flash-photography-workshops\/\">Flash photography workshop<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How to book a tutoring session<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Check on my\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/studio\/calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Studio Calendar<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to see if the date is available.<br \/>\nThen\u00a0confirm the date with me before paying the reservation fee!<br \/>\nThis fee will count towards your final fee payable on the date.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/paypalme\/OnePerfectMoment\/100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$100 non-refundable reservation fee to secure your date.<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: in paying this fee, the time is blocked out exclusively for you.
