I concentrated on bounce flash photography for the latter half of the book, since I strongly believe that is where the magic lies with using on-camera flash.<br clear=\"all\" \/><br clear=\"all\" \/>One way in which this book has been radically changed from the first edition, is that it is now more of a work-book. There are several examples where you have to have your camera (and flash) in your hands, to step through the instruction. All the better to make sense of flash photography, and become confident in the use of flash photography.<br clear=\"all\" \/><br clear=\"all\" \/>For those of you who had asked for the images in the video of the <a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/review-best-light-modifiers-for-on-camera-flash\/\">review: comparing on-camera flash light modifiers<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; they are in the book!\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><div class='clear'><\/div>\n<p>The cover image was specifically decided on, and shot for this cover. I wanted an image that is striking. It really had to stand out. And it had to be truly illustrative of the beautiful light you can easily create with just your on-camera flash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/images\/models\/anelisa\/NV2_9113_duo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"676\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>About the cover image with Anelisa<\/h2>\n<p>You may remember this photograph\u00a0above\u00a0of Anelisa, from a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/continuous-studio-lighting-westcott-spiderlite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">studio photo session<\/a>\u00a0to create an initial portfolio of photos shot in my then-new studio. I had used\u00a0the \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/recommends\/westcott-spiderlite-kit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Westcott Spiderlite TD6<\/a>\u00a0(<em>affiliate<\/em>)\u00a0with the large\u00a03\u2019x4\u2019 softbox,\u00a0for that striking portrait of my favorite model, <a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/category\/models\/anelisa-durham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anelisa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I loved that image so much, that I wanted to recreate it for the cover of this book &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/neilvn.com\/tangents\/recommends\/nvn-book-on-camera-flash-2nd-ed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">On-Camera Flash (2nd edition)<\/a>\u00a0(<em>Amazon<\/em>)\u00a0&#8211; with just bounce flash.
