recap: Photography workshop – Charlotte, NC\u00a0(2015)<\/h1>\n

A group of photographers in Charlotte asked if I would like to present\u00a0a flash photography workshop there. We arranged a really nice venue\u00a0– The Getty Center, in Rock Hill, SC –\u00a0\u00a0and settled on a date,\u00a0July 25th (Sat). Everything in place for this, the\u00a0first workshop away from NJ \/\u00a0NY since the workshop in Amsterdam<\/a> two years ago.<\/p>\n

With two models, and a relatively small group of 8 people – just how I prefer the workshop size, we could cover the photography\u00a0workshop syllabus <\/a>in a relaxed tempo, and be sure everyone had the opportunity to shoot and learn. With the focus on balancing flash with ambient light<\/a>, we spent time on off-camera flash<\/a>, as well as best techniques with\u00a0bounce flash<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the evening we worked with on-camera bounce flash in the lobby area of the venue. Those old mailboxes make an interesting background.<\/p>\n
