The glamorous life as a photographer<\/h2>\n

While crawling on my hands and knees for nearly 200 ft underneath this platform to run electricity for several timelapse cameras \u2026 I had some time to reflect on my life as a photographer. I immediately thought back to a comment my wife made a few years ago. We were huddled under a canopy in the cold rain \u2026 where I had cameras set up to do a timelapse of the final event of that year\u2019s New York Fashion Week. The event was on a stage they built for Tommy Hilfiger \u2026 and there were a bunch of celebrities around \u2026 and on paper this all sounds quite wonderful in a way to be involved in all this \u2026 and she turned to me and said, \u201cWorking as a photographer isn\u2019t very glamorous, is it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Huddled up on the cold rainy night, I had to agree. The results of what we do may all look great in the end, and what is shown on social media and our websites \u2014 but the actual *doing* of the work is often well, yes, not that glamorous.<\/p>\n

But then, this is what I really wanted to do all along – work as a photographer. But man, I could use a smattering of glitz in my life some days.<\/p>\n
