Do I need a SB 700 if I have a SB600?

  • The SB-600 is still a usable flash, but it's no longer being made.  Also, if you are setting up multiple flashes for wireless, you cannot use the SB-600 as a master flash.  The SB-700 can be used as a master flash.

Victor - it really depends on what you are photographing, or what you need to do with another flash that the SB-600 doesn't allow you?
  • Ok thanks for your answer. SB 700 give me the distance, SB600 no. My intention is artistics photography with manual flash

The distance scale is only important if you shoot direct flash without a modifier.
Even without the scale, the Guide Number will help you out.
