Hi- It depends if you want built-in wireless, The Yongnuo model you list does not have built-in wireless (I have one). Because it's an "EX II" version, you can control the flash functions from the camera menu, and it will also correctly respond to the on-camera controller (I have the YN622-C). I know this because I have a Canon 580EX, and I have to walk over to this unit and change settings.

I would also be interested in hearing about the Godox system on this forum.

  • I currently use the Adorama R2 system of flashes. (Rebranded Godox) . I will never look elsewhere for flashes. They just work and the lithium battery is the bees knees. Trust me on this one. Never had a problem and used basically everyday. I just got the Fuji mini zoom for my Fuji too. They are sooooo reliable. I really can't remember when I had a misfire. (and thats firing 2 or more flashes) I am pretty sure I never have and that says a lot. Hope that helps!

Jay - I know I am not the original poster, but it was great to hear from someone here about the Godox system. That's my next step if I do more head shots/portraits.

  • I have invested in Godox flash sytem for my Fuji's. So far they work great. They have a complete line from small on camera speed lights to 500w lithium powered lights that do TTL & HSS.

Through the myriad of brand names associated with Godox, I just saw another one in a mailing from Amazon: "Fomito Godox". I think one of the reasons I shy away is I am totally unsure what works with what! Neewer, Flashpoint, Godox, Fomito, and I'm sure there are others. Any comments would be great.
  • If you reside in the US go with Flashpoint thru Adorama. It it easy to get and warranty is in NYC. It is all Godox but rebranded for several companies like cheetah, adorama flashpoint etc....., but I stick with what is easy for me to get and find. One website, one company that sells the whole line. Adorama.

@bobh665 ...I just picked up the mini for Fuji myself. Impressive little sucker! Fits perfectly on my XT2 and will give me access to the whole array of R2 toys.
