Alienbees vs Flash ... and their respective light modifiers

Hi everyone,

I've been shooting outdoors for a long time, trying to take advantage of natural, soft light as much as possible. Now that I am moving indoors (both studio and ... well... indoors), I would like to know if a single flash can illuminate a studio/reception well enough.

I already own two YN56s and one AlienBees 800. And since four YN56s = one AB800, I was wondering which one would win here. And what would be the "typical" light modifiers to go for?

For X-mas this year, I will want to buy the necessary equipment for my future studio/indoors work, so I would love some input on my shopping list. The ceiling is $1000.

This is my equipment already:

- Canon 5D MKII
- Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro
- Canon 70-300mm f4-5.6
- Tamron 28-75mm f2.8
- Canon 50mm f1.8

- two YN560s
- one AlienBees 800
- 47" foldable octabox

Happy shopping! ;)
