    From everything I read, the center AF point is the most accurate of all points. Depending on the camera, AF points which use the cross type are accurate while the peripheral AF points only use one axis of focus.

    thanx stephen i have read the same thing but what isnt clear to me is the center focus point anymore accurate/faster than the other cross type focus points

    One word, yes, in 95+% of the time. Regardless of the camera's capabilities, it's generally the norm for the center focus point to be the fastest and most accurate.
