Have a choice to make for doing an outdoor wedding in July, budget of 1600 or so. nikon 24-120 f4 & 85 1.8 ($1500 til 3/2/13), or sigma 17-50 2.8 & 50-150 2.8, or nikon 70-200 f4 & 50 1.8. I will be using a d7000, my son will have a d5100, we already have a 35 1.8, 60 2.8 micro, 10-20 sigma, along with kit lens and zooms & 1 sb-700. I am sure we can get it done with what we have, but have the excuse to upgrade to some new glass.

But perhaps the 17-50 / 50-150 combo will be better then. (I don't know Sigma at all.)
